Evaporative cooling
Evaporative cooling removes heat by evaporating water, either directly into the airstream or through cooling towers and adiabatic coolers. It uses less electricity than mechanical chilling in many climates but consumes water, which raises WUE. For site selection it shifts the focus to water supply, quality, discharge options and drought risk, and it works best where humidity is moderate.
