PPA and virtual PPA
A power purchase agreement is a long-term contract to buy electricity, often from a specific generator, at agreed prices. In a physical PPA the power is delivered to the buyer’s load. In a virtual PPA the buyer and generator settle the difference between a fixed price and the market price, and the buyer usually receives the renewable energy certificates, without physical delivery.
